I wonder if this tractor truck is a Mack? I can't see any Bulldog on the nose though.

I first noticed this picture several years ago, and back then my first spontaneous mind said it was a Federal. But I don't know.
I have now realised that various oil companies in Sweden, among others BP and Esso, purchased some Mack EHT tractors model year 1948 to pull tank semi trailers.
So, can it be a Mack EHT or a Federal or any other US manufacturer?
Gerlof maybe can identify if it is a Mack EHT or not?

Jag uppmärksammade den här bilden för första gången vid bildsökning i "Stockholmskällan" för flera år sedan och tänkte då på Federal som möjligt fordonsfabrikat.
Nu har jag uppmärksammat att flera svenska oljebolag inhandlade Mack EHT dragbilar årsmodell 1948 som dragare till sina tanksemitrailers.
Frågan är då, kan det vara en Mack EHT eller en Federal, eller något annat amerikanskt fabrikat?

Hi Kjell,
I don't know for sure if it's a Mack or not. I have to ask the guys from the Mackmuseum about this mystery truck. Some parts of the truck look like a Mack, others don't. Such a shame that the hood is not visible in the picture, that would tell a lot of details.

Does anyone have pictures of the Swedish E models? It would be great to see them.

I'm also looking for information about 2 other trucks, model LR wchich were imported by Paul Dylting in 1953. These trucks were used in the mining industry. I already had contact with LKAB of the Kiruna mine, but they told me they didn't use Mack trucks. So it might be another mine in Sweden. I hope someone has some information!

If this picture is from Sweden I'm sure that the picture is not taken in any minig company. As you see it's a big forest hill in the background. I guess this picture is taken at the Trängslet projekt when building a big hydropower dam noth of the village Älvdalen. It's just the right year, I was there and looking as a ten year old boy.

No the picture was not taken in Sweden. This is just an example to show how the model looks like. But maybe it was used for buidling the dam. Can somone help us?

A bad Picture showing a pre-war Mack truck stuck in a muddy Swedish road. Tht Swedish build cab is rather ugly in my eyes.
U2642 says owned by truck operator Erik Zander in Västerås (U-zone on the map). Swedish archives could not find this
truck in their register.

Are you sure it's a Mack truck? The grill looks different than the normal Mack AB model in that period.

Gerlof, going back to your search for Mack dump trucks imported in Sweden 1953, I found these two pictures.

I don't think the dump truck is any Mack, but the timing is the same, 1953. Could it be a test or something similar before a bigger order?

Since it is obviously not a Mack, can it be an Oshkosh, an FWD, an Autocar, a Stirling or even a British Scammel or a French Labourier ?
Note the transverse front leaf spring.

Anyway the truck shown is registered in Stockholm but the pictures are taken near Gävle.

These are definitely Mack trucks.
Gerlof, I have not yet checked their registration papers, so I don't have their chassis numbers either. But will do so in due course and add the information to my Excel sheet and forward it to you.

Note the single rear stop light by the number plate, so the pictures must be taken pre-1953.

Ditt förslag om Dodge verkar faktiskt fullt acceptabelt.
Även om jag hitintills sneglat på en Mack som kallas BG,
och tydligen fanns 1934.Även om bilen på fotot verkar
ha kylarmaskering med vertikala ribbor. Däremot tror jag inte på de årtal som angives i fotots nederkant.
