Experimental Fordson Thames

Inläggav skandiahamn » 25 nov 2009, 20:31

This Fordson Thames was an experiment, it was on work trials with Silcock & Collins delivering new Ford cars from the factory to the Ford garages. It was used as a test truck for the Thames Trader.

I guess what you see on the picture is actually a tractor (this is the expression in American English at least – maybe not so in British English), isn’t it??.
Well, I think Stellan really meant a Fordson farm tractor, like e.g. a Fordson Major.

Anyway, Fordson lorries and vans were sold in few numbers also in Sweden during the 1930:s and 1940:s, and here is one example for instance.

A model I cannot identify but it is made in 1932 at least. And I happen to know the owner.

Otherwise I think most of the Fordson lorries sold in Sweden were smaller sized vehicles e.g. type B1 Bulldog, up to around two tons loading capacity.

Fordson Major.
